Battle of Britain Portraits: Wing Commander J F D Elkington

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, HRH The Prince of Wales, patron of the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, commissioned the series of drawings by alumni and faculty of the Royal Drawing School.
Born in Cheltenham, Peter Kuhfeld studied art at Leicester Polytechnic and, after a brief period teaching at Rugby School of Art, proceeded with his studies at the Royal Academy Schools under Peter Greenham, RA. He has won numerous prizes, particularly for drawing, was elected member of the NEAC in 1986 and as a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 1992.
