Lisbon, Portugal

An oil painting on canvass representing a battle scene. In the foreground in the centre, a horseman in wearing a three-cornered hat with a red feather and sash of the same colour shoots an enemy soldier. The other soldier tries the brandish his enemy with the butt of his rifle. The background is filled with the heat of horseback battle. In the far-distance, hill-tops can be seen.
This painting could possibly be the work of Ciccio Graziani a Neapolitan 17th-century painter or possibly Francesco Simonini (1686-1753).
