Bay of Douglas

Bordering on the shore stands highly preeminent the stately and magnificent Castle of Mona, the summer residence of His Grace most noble John Murray Duke of Athol, Pitular Lord or King of the Isles. Near to this is Mount Stewart belonging to Colonel Stewart and a seat of Mr Heaps which we admired for its neatness and simplicity.'
