BBC Premises Alexandra Palace Ground Floor

The BBC rented the east wing of Alexandra Palace for the television service, despite a break in transmission for the Second World War, between 1939-1946. This plan shows the former Baird transmitter hall transformed into workshop space and the continuing adapations made by the BBC for the expanding service. The garage structure in the bottom right was later removed.
