The 49 (4 x 4 cm) squares were individually designed and created by members of “Bead People Berlin – Bead and Textile Art”. Initiated and coordinated by textile artist Natacha Wolters, their collaboration was created for the Museum of European Cultures.The handspun and handwoven silk is from India, the beads are from Jablonec, Venice and Japan, and the sequins are from Germany and France. The bead sampler has been created by Gisela Arndt, Christine Bell, Beate Buchenberg, Ursula Dahlke, Monika Droese, Karin Grabowski, Gabriele Grohmann, Christine Hailer, Dagmar Hirsch, Sabine Keichel, Ute Kießling, Barbara Krahl, Daniela Kroll, Renate Kunert, Adelheid Lemmer, Brigitte Lüdtke, Monika Ordas, Corinna Pfeiffer, Ute Rambow, Ingrid Ratei-Damm, Kira Saeger, Elisabeth Tietmeyer, Ute Wennrich, Ingrid Wieland, Natacha Wolters and Cornelia Zwick.
