At the end of the 18th century printed leather shoes came into fashion as an inexpensive alternative to embroidered shoes. This narrow leather shoe with rounded toe has a short, low-cut cap in the middle of which there is a small silk bow. The edges of the openings are trimmed in silk ribbon led through a reinforcing linen ribbon that is tied beneath the instep bow to adjust the shoe. The heels and side seams are adorned with silk ribbon and the small cambered heel is covered in white leather. Its edges are imprinted with a delicate branch of lanceolate leaves and round berries.
