Benefactors' list in the museum's entrance hall

The plans for the new museum building called for the display of the list of benefactors from earlyon.From its founding, the museum depended on the support of Hamburg’s citizens. Therefore, many well-known Hamburg families and institutions can be found on the list. As donors of money and artefacts, they decisively influenced the museum’s development.
