The “Official Edition” of the Constitution, printed by Dunlap and Claypool, was a private printing presented to delegates of the Constitutional Convention on the morning of Tuesday September 18, 1787. This copy belonged to Benjamin Franklin, who later presented this document to Jonathan Williams Sr., the husband to Franklin’s niece, Grace Harris Williams.
