Bensheim, Germany, A memorial inscription in the site of a synagogue that was destroyed.

Yad Vashem

Yad Vashem

The inscription (in German) reads: Since the 14th Century there was a Jewish congregation in Bensheim, and there were synagogues in various locations. In this location stood a synagogue that was built in 1892, and was the last synagogue that was built until this day. It was ruined by the National Socialists in front of the local crowd in 1938. The citizens of Bensheim remember the men, women and children who were murdered, led to their death and deported from their homeland due to the insane anti-Semitism and racism of the National Socialist German violent government.
