Driving or walking through the localities of the Saarland, one cannot help but notice the highly individualized treatment of industrial heritage in the region. Mining-related memorials consisting of devices, transport carriages or pieces of architecture are located in public places, at crossroads or along streets. Mining carts, pulleys, cutters, portals, underground railways and locomotives remind the people of the Saarland's mining culture and history. As part of the "Das Erbe" exhibition, the scenographer Olaf Mehl developed photographic documentation of this example of industrial art. The individual motives are photographed from different perspectives in three photos each and combined to a single work of art.
