A female guard at the camp, who also served at Auschwitz-Birkenau and Ravensbrück, left Bergen Belsen on 12/04/1945, three days before the liberation of the camp, but was captured by the British some days after the liberation. On 17/09/1945 she was tried in the Belsen Trial by a British military court at Lüneburg, Germany. She was sentenced to death on 17/11/1945, and hanged at Hamelin prison on 13/12/1945
