18th century ceremonial vehicle (French). A vehicle obtained by the Portuguese Royal House, probably from the Lancastres and Meneses family because the Portuguese Royal Coat of Arms was painted over theirs.

The body has a semi-elliptical shape and green color. Under the body is a rectangular compartment lined with black leather and intended for transporting the baggage.

Its position extending downwards from the level of the shafts provides greater stability for the vehicle.

The decoration of the exterior panels in a floral border and central design is a double Royal Coat of Arms of Portugal and Spain surmounted by a Royal Crown sustained by angels.

The body is entered using a hanging step.
