Depiction of Kamalban which directly translated means “forest of lotuses”. The lotus is one of the major motifs in the Sohrai wall murals of Bhelwara group of villages in eastern Hazaribagh. The lotus is seen as the home of God.

During this festival, women clean their houses and adorn the mud walls with intricate Sohrai art to commemorate, honour and welcome the cattle and harvest season.
