Big Bang Pop is a work by the Spanish artist Sergio Mora (Barcelona, Spain, 1975). Considered one of the leading artists of surrealist Pop Art in Spain, he combines magical worlds filled with voluptuous figures, circus characters and ingenious cultural references. Self-defined as a “child of the television generation”, the artist cites influences ranging from the Pink Panther to La Chapelle, from Mark Ryder to the Mexican Day of the Dead. His pieces often refer to Spanish stereotypes, such as bullfighters or ham legs, mixed with characters from popular culture, such as ET and Dr. Spock.
