Bimah Cover

Jewish Museum in Prague

Jewish Museum in Prague

The entire surface of this bimah cover is decorated with an appliqué of variously coloured leather. Considering the high level of craftsmanship, it is assumed that the item was made in a workshop of the Imperial Court, probably in Vienna, rather than in Moravia, where was acquired by the Jewish Museum in Prague. Inscription: Crown of Torah (1707).
