The excavations carried out on the occasion of the works of channelling of the L'albufereta ravine, and specifically in the archaeological area known as el Tossal of les Basses, have revealed an Iberian occupation from the discovery of an important town, with industrial facilities and a small jetty.
In the southeastern sector of the Iberian settlement was discovered this representation in terracotta of a Punic BIREME boat made from a single piece, as a model of great realism. It has a series of holes in the sides as well as applique on the inside of the helmet, which perhaps indicates that have gone some elements of wood that would shape housing, banks, the two orders of oars, the sobrepuente and all the spars, masts, sails and rigging.
Terracotta, which appeared very fragmented, missing the finials of the bow, roda and Stern, presents decoration painted in some points. In addition, the keel develops a solid structure decorated with two almond-shaped eyes and a line of teeth interjections.
