This helmet was owned by Tachibana Akinao, the 7th lord of the Yanagawa domain. It is shaped like a traditional cap for men called “Eboshi”, the bottom of which looks like a cloth fluttering in the wind. The flip-up ends of the headband on the helmet resemble a style of ‘Kuwagata’, which is a helmet crest in the shape of stylized horns.
