Black robed initiates

The initiates have worn charcoal blackened robes for their last month together with special ear ornaments. As the time for the ceremony nears, they gather in the Lorora – the clan settlement specially built for the occasion on the slopes of the 6,000 feet Lorogi Plateau. Kenya’s renowned photojournalist Mohamed (Mo) Amin, also known as ‘Six Camera Mo’, produced a comprehensive pictorial record of these remarkable people.
