A rectangular cotton block printed and mordant dyed cloth in red ground with an imitation patola pattern of octagonal trellis containing diamond and linked medallion designs in each, all rendered in back, with the red ground contrasting to it. The borders of the textile are decorated with simple geometric bands which became popular in Indonesia after trade with Gujarat. Shorter in length as compared to a sari, imitation patola is often draped over the shoulder or worn around the waist as a skirt.
