Flight AttendantRepublic Airlines, 1986Republic Airlines was formed by the merger of North Central Airlines and Southern Airways in 1979. It quickly grew into a nationwide carrier after purchasing Hughes Air West in 1980, but was in turn absorbed by Northwest Airlines in 1986.
