Boar Hunt

Often working within the genre of still lifes, this painting is a rare example of Francesco painting a landscape populated by figures. The artist has chosen to represent the hunt at the height of action, as the horseman in brilliant red coats surround the dogs that have captured the boar. The precision of Francesco Paolo’s brushstrokes are more controlled than his brother’s example of Child with Goats above.
