Designers Reuben Klamer and Perry Grant are both credited with contributing to the design of Smess: The Ninny's Chess, for Parker Brothers in 1970. Basically, Smess utilizes a game board on which the directions for a move are marked. It plays simpler and faster than standard chess, but opponents can see likely moves as easily as a player, so a great amount of strategy is required. Parker later re-released the game with a new look and title: All The King's Men. This game plays slightly simpler than Smess, but still requires strategic skill.
