Milton Bradley's game "Bombardment" poses a problem. The Bradley company purchased rivals McLoughlin Brothers around 1920, and published some of the other firm's games with little or no changes. McLoughlin first published Bombardment around 1900, to commemorate the Philippine war and the Battle of Manila Bay. The box design remained exactly the same, but Milton Bradley published this example. Probably the game still appealed to boys regardless of, or in spite of, direct association with a specific war.
