The board game Easy Money, produced since 1935, helps tell a curious turn in the history of the board game Monopoly. Like Monopoly, Easy Money is based on Elizabeth Magee's Landlord's Game patent, which had expired by 1935. But Parker's Monopoly was beginning to sell briskly. Easy Money played, and looked, remarkably similar to Monopoly. Eventually Parker sued Milton Bradley for patent infringement and Milton Bradley was forced to change the design of Easy Money, with a "new improved edition." The game still resembled Monopoly in looks and play, and Milton Bradley continued to produce it. This particular version is not printed with that statement, it may be Milton Bradley's original version, before the Parker Lawsuit.
