Alex Randolph (1922-2004) was a noted game designer. Born in the United States, he traveled and lived much of his life in Europe. In 1962 Randolph, along with game designer Sid Sackson, was hired to start a game division for 3M Company. Through 3M, Randolph published some of his most successful games, including Breakthru, Evade, Twixt, and Oh-Wah-Ree. Later he established his own game publishing house in Venice, Italy. He continued to design successful games for the rest of his life. Geister (ghost) is one such game, published by several different companies and still in production through Abacus Spiele.
