In 1960, wise Americans placed their faith in savings banks. And what better way to teach youngsters how to save their money than a board game? The Savings Bank Association of New York State produced its "Savings Bank Game" in 1960. Surely everyone had fun playing the simple money-saving board game. It took two different frugal acts for a player to win the game. He or she had to be debt-free, and also had to own three things outright: "a camera, a TV set, and a second-hand automobile."
