Senet is the name of the oldest board game known to man. Dated from around 3500 B.C., it was played in ancient Egypt where it took on religious significance; Senet boards have been unearthed alongside mummies in ancient tomb excavations. Although the board is easily recognized and often duplicated, the rules of play are not completely understood. Scholars still debate the actual rules. However, over time many game manufacturers have published versions of Senet. This one was made in 1978, to coincide with the blockbuster exhibit 'Treasures of Tutankhamun' then touring the world.
