Parker Brothers produced the board game The Magnificent Race in 1975. It was a nod, perhaps, to a Saturday morning cartoon series called "Wacky Racers," or to a movie of similar theme released ten years earlier called "The Great Race." Either way, the game employs a simple roulette-style wheel with a spot for one marble to land. That is the "racer" that wins the particular leg of a great race. There are gambling choices to make along the way, and one evil marble may win the whole race in spite of other players' efforts. The game's graphic design is typical 1970s-era nostalgia.
