Parker Brothers produced the deluxe game "The Philippine War: Crushing the Rebellion in Luzon" around 1900, the date of its copyright. This places the game in the middle of the Philippean War; it did not officially end until 1902. While many prominent Americans, such as Mark Twain, vehemently opposed the war and its brutal atrocities, game producers understood that war-themed board games appealed to boys. In remarkably good condition, this game includes a special side compartment and utensil box to hold all the playing pieces, and wooden box sides.
