War of the Networks: The TV Rating Game is actually quite a realistic wealth accumulation-style game. Each player represents a television network while landing on spaces around the board causes some of the benefits and pitfalls of television ratings to occur. 'Programs' with low ratings are cancelled and the winner is the 'network' with the most successful programs. The game premiered in 1979 in the midst of many television ratings wars and controversies. More recently game producer Avalon Hill took over production of this game.
