Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden - New York Originals by Jamie McDonald

Walking along 36th Street in Astoria, Queens, one cannot help but notice a pair of enormous wooden arched doors leading into a walled-off block. The doors are a gate to a bygone era, a place where old-world Europeans found friendship and community in an unknown land. It is the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden, one of the first in America and the last of its kind in New York City.
