Bomb-damaged houses on High Street, Kingston Upon Hull

George Bernard Wood was a freelance journalist and photographer. He was engaged by the National Buildings Record to photograph buildings threatened with destruction from aerial bombing during the Second World War. Wood covered towns and cities in the north of England, including Hull, which was one of the country's most raided cities.
