A section of animal bone left over after butting out buttons. These buttons would have been made by prisoners of war and made to be sold to the public. The flat disc of bone with a central hole would have been threaded with a loop of metal. This type of button was common in the 18th century. The other with a central perfortion surrounded by three other perforations are also typical of the 18th century.
