Bonghwanghyungbae, Insignia with Phoenixes

Bonghwang-Hyungbae (Insignia) attached to the robes of Royal Ladies in Joseon Dynasty. This insignia is embroidered in clouds, phoenix, waves, rocks and corals with gold gilded thread and polychrome threads on a green satin damask of clouds pattern. The couching stitches around the embroidery motifs and Cintamani bead in the center reinforce the beauty of this insignia.
