A typical product of many of Australia’s Aboriginal populations, though not all, boo- merangs have various functions. Although they are usually used as throw weapons to hunt birds and small mammals, they also serve as multifunctional tools used for cutting, dig- ging, and re-building. Among populations of central and northern Australia, boomerangs are also used as musical instruments to accompany moments of dancing and singing.
