Bottles and Jars

This group of vessels, decorated with applied glass trails, is typical of the Early Islamic Period. Applied trail-decoration had been popular since Byzantine times, but in the Early Islamic Period the trails became large and prominent in relation to the size of the vessel, creating a strong sense of plasticity.
