Kimbell Art Museum

Kimbell Art Museum
Fort Worth, United States

The interior of this bowl displays a variation on the slip-inlay technique known as reverse inlay (yoksanggam), in which the background portion of the design is carved out and filled with white slip. The elements of the design thus consist of a gray clay surface surrounded and defined by a white slip ground.
