Box-o-Marigolds

From the Artist: I started my hands-on gardening journey 25 years ago, and in 2020, it was my saving grace. It gave me focus and it got me through the early weeks and months of Covid lockdown. It allowed me to be outdoors and took my mind off the shock and reality of what was happening all around us. I poured energy into my garden and spent more time than usual capturing my creativity in photos and sharing them on social media, hoping to offer others a moment of beauty and pause.

One of my favorite gardening stories to tell in 2020 was how my friend and I bought a $1 box of Marigold seeds at the Dollar Store and turned them into the most glorious fall blooms all over my garden. From seed to seedling to splendor! Through the years, gardening has taught me that if you are patient, you will discover the fruits of your labor. If you are willing to take the time to plan, learn, tend and feed your garden, you will be greatly rewarded again and again. This particular hazy and sunny Fall afternoon offers a beautiful vista for the eyes and calm for the soul.
