Royal Ontario Museum

Royal Ontario Museum
Toronto, Canada

The museum records note: "The work on the lid is said to be an imitation of some painting on a rock which, a few years ago, fell into Lake Couchiching. According to Mesaquab (Jonathan Yorke, the Rama Indian who made the box), the picture represents two Ojibways, and a Mohawk, the latter being clubbed by one of the former.”
