This is a wooden box made by joining boards and fixing them with wooden pegs. The box shown here is larger in size than other types of boxes, and the four corners were rounded both inside and outside. The corners were rounded by fitting a triangular pillar with one concave side into the right-angle corner joining together two boards, and affixing it with wooden pegs. The edges of the lid’s underside were raised to fit into the body. The entire surface was covered by hemp cloth and lacquered in red.
