Unique features of this contemplative bodhisattva are the high coronet decorated with floral ornaments and the way the bodhisattva leans his head forward with his hand touching his cheek. A knob on the back of the head indicates that the figure had been equipped originally with a halo. Contemplative bodhisattvas were made during the 6th and 7th period.
