Bronze ex-voto

This ex-voto was found in Cástulo in 1971, a small figurine depicting a naked man and is cast in bronze lost wax.

This type of votive offerings were frequently found in the Iberian sanctuaries of Sierra Morena (Cave of the Lobera Collado Castellar and Gardens in Santa Elena).

It is a surprise find in Cástulo a votive offering (an image offered by devotees in the sanctuary), but perhaps it is indicating where votive offerings were made, and not where they were deposited, or perhaps we should think that there was a minor sanctuary in the city itself .
