Buna Qalaa, literally meaning /coffee slaughtering/ is a traditional Oromo meal prepared by drying ripe coffee beans and toasting it in a unique pot of butter. Buna Qalaa is beyond a feast among the traditions of the Oromo people. It is served during the Gadaa ceremony which indicates the unique history of the Oromo and coffee.
