These wares are pairs: outer one and inside one. In the case of the outer jar, itis quite stable due to its large volume in the bottom part. The whole body was decorated with intense patterns of lotus and arabesque. There are four holes in the lid and four loops on the shoulder allowed one to tie a string. The inside of the jar is nearly similar with the outer jar and several decorative patterns cover the whole body. Four holes and loops are attached to the jar like the outerjar. This jar is specially made for preserving the amnion and placenta of royal prince and princess. The history of burying jars for this purpose in Korea is dated back to Unified Silla.
