Japanned bureau cabinet with Chinese decorations made in England around 1715. Its structure belongs to the so called “Queen Anne style”. The lacquered furniture was highly demanded in Europe for cabinet decorations. The households displayed imported lacquered furniture as well as imitations, these last ones using the English technique of japanning.
