In the 1990s, Italian quickly became the most popular foreign cuisine, and carbonara, pizza, and a Moscow-invented arugula salad with shrimps began to travel to home kitchens. At the same time, the Italian coffee culture came to Moscow, and espresso machines appeared first in restaurants and then in homes. Later, Caesar, burgers and sushi were added to the range of popular Moscow dishes.
