Bust of Philip II

Lombard sculptor (?)Second half of 16th century

Sforzesco Castle

Sforzesco Castle
Milan, Italy

Hall 7 of the museum was traditionally used as a
reception/entertaining space by the Municipality of Milan, which is why the
sculptures are arranged in such a way as to leave the central space free.
Numerous busts of emperors are displayed along the walls on fixed marble
supports, such as the Bust of Philip II, an example of Lombard Mannerist
sculpture of uncertain attribution.
