This is a series based on a set of statistics. As the artist scans magazines such as “Art in America,” “New Yorker,” “Playboy,” or “Vogue”, the computer calculates 10 most frequently recurring words and colors on a yearly basis. Then the artist assigns each word with colors completing the color-word combination. Those 10 colors are applied on the canvas, filling 10,000 squares precisely cross-sectioned. The vibrant canvas is nothing more than a mixture of 10 assigned colors demonstrating that seemingly glamorous art is actually played by only a few clichés. This minimalist-like work demonstrates how the artist has conceptualized the social issues through the medium of painting.
