A carrier onboard delivery (COD) aircraft, a Grumman C-2 Greyhound, lands on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. Visible on the left side of the image is the ship’s island. In the booth, a photographer’s mate operates a video camera, which was part of the Pilot Landing Aid Television (PLAT) system. PLAT footage was available for immediate viewing on a closed-circuit television system.
