Of the upholstered items made at the Royal Tapestry Factory for the bedroom of Charles III of Spain, 3 complete canopies and 8 stools form part of the Museum collection. These pieces were originally commissioned from Guillermo Anglois and were continued by José del Castillo once the former had retired.
All the monarch's upholstered items have a moralizing, mythological focus with themes such as "Virtues" and "Elements." However, they particularly stand out for their decorative animal, bird, flower, and acanthus motifs on a blue background.
On the canopy that presides over the cathedral's Chapter Room is a painting on copper by Mexican artist Juan Patricio Morlete. A gift from Canon Juan Manuel de Losada, it depicts the Virgin of Guadalupe.
